High-Tech CO₂ Sensor

Creator & Developer

A high-tech CO₂ sensor I coded, soldered, and designed using the latest Arduino technology. Housed in a recyclable 3D-printed case as a sustainable alternative to traditional sensors. Placed in the school hall, it provided real-time monitoring and raised awareness about CO₂. Selected by my city's municipality to be showcased at a national innovation exhibition.

Reflection

Built during my senior year of high school. It showed me how technology can create real impact beyond the classroom.

Teamwork

Driver Distraction AI Detection

Group Leader & Developer

Developed an AI model detecting distracted drivers at the Inspirit AI program in collaboration with MIT and Harvard students. The project has real potential to improve road safety, reduce accidents, and save lives.

Reflection

Gained deeper insights into teamwork, innovation, and the impact technology can have on society.

Data Aggregation Project

Group Leader & Data Curator

Led a project at Sorbonne University compiling extensive supermarket sales data into observable forms such as pie charts, using an AI system our team developed for classification. Enhanced our understanding of consumer trends and demonstrated the practical application of AI in organizing complex datasets.

Reflection

Taught me how teamwork and data organization can turn complex information into meaningful insights.

Founder & Developer

Developed FalconPath.tech at 42 Abu Dhabi, a platform designed to help students discover opportunities such as scholarships, competitions, internships, and programs through AI-powered recommendations.

Combines my personal experience searching for opportunities with my passion for building technology that helps students.

TreasureBox

Founder & Android Developer

Founded TreasureBox, a group savings Android app built during a Cornell University hackathon. Written in Kotlin, it lets groups create shared 'boxes' to deposit into and withdraw from, tracking members, transactions, and balances in real time.

Reflection

Turning a weekend idea into a working Android app taught me how fast collaboration and clear scope can ship real product.

What I learned

Kotlin, Android development, shared-state design, transactions modeling, and shipping under hackathon pressure.

International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) 2024

Participating in the first International AI Olympiad, representing the UAE, was a transformative journey. Winning silver deepened my faith, initial doubts turned into determination. The intense preparation challenged me, and the victory proved that perseverance leads to unexpected success. I also connected with like-minded innovators from around the world.

A Safe Ramadan Initiative

During Ramadan, we volunteered to distribute food during the evening rush for Iftar, creating a safer environment and ensuring everyone had access to a meal. Our team distributed over 1,900 meals across Al Ain City.

This experience showed me the importance of community service and using teamwork to support others.

A student, engineer, and lifelong learner.

I'm Zayed Al Muharrami, a Computer Science student at Cornell University and an ADIA Mustaqbali candidate. My journey has taken me from soldering CO₂ sensors in a school hall to representing the UAE at the International AI Olympiad in Bulgaria.

I care about building technology that improves lives, whether that's an AI model that keeps drivers alert, a platform helping students find their next opportunity, or a data pipeline that turns noise into insight.

At Cornell, I'm doubling down on the fundamentals of computer science while continuing to build, compete, and collaborate with people who believe the best problems are the ones worth solving together.
